Community members braved adverse weather conditions to attend Harbourside Inside’s first concert of the year on the evening of February 20, 2026 at the Rotary Hall in Lion’s Head. The event was co-sponsored by the Rotary Club of Northern Bruce Peninsula.

Trio Infernale was first up, showcasing the musical talents of local musicians Dominik Franken, Dan Corcoran and Robert Franklin. While the musicians have played together numerous times, about three months ago they decided to form this new musical band. The trio say they play original, alternative, blues, and jazz tunes. Playing to a full house, Trio Infernale treated the audience to their newly-released songs Dignified Man and Whatever, which are available on various streaming platforms, including Youtube

The “Open Mic” segment followed Trio Infernale, with the audience participating in answering music trivia questions between the acts.

Seven local musicians played a mix of folk, blues and rock. Some of the acts were: Lion’s Head resident Doug Embleton who played several Beatles melodies, Rod Layman was joined by Mark Tellier and performed “Cold & Dark & Wet” by Greg Brown; John Lacroix from Tobermory together with Dominick, Dan and Rod played “I Shot The Sheriff” by Bob Marley, and Duane played his homemade ukulele.

There was even a comedian, Jordan from Barrow Bay who delivered his standup routine with jokes about his beard and his family.

Rod Layman of Harbourside Inside says it was a well attended, pleasant evening of music and socialising. Attendees and musicians were happy to have a musical evening out in the midst of winter and the event continued past 10 p.m. Layman was pleased that musicians and attendees also came from Tobermory to participate in the event.

Harbourside Inside and the Rotary Club of Northern Bruce Peninsula will host their second Open Mic and Musical Trivia Night on 20 March 2026 at 7 p.m. at the Rotary Hall in Lion’s Head. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Singers, musicians, poets, comedians are invited to take part. All community members are welcome, free entry but donations are appreciated.
