The Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association (BPBA) will host its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Parks Canada Visitors Centre, 120 Chi sin tib dek Road, Tobermory on Tuesday June 3rd, 7 – 9 pm. All BPBA members are encouraged to attend and members of the general public are welcome.
Attendees will learn more about the BPBA and how members and staff help to protect and restore critical dark sky, forest, shoreline, and wetland habitats for species at risk.
Our guest speaker, Mike Warkentin, will present “Lost in Light”, exploring how light pollution is hiding our star studded night skies and having significant ecological consequences on wildlife. Understand what we can do to help. Mike will highlight stunning celestial sights from the new astrophotography exhibit at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre and explain the wide-ranging effects of artificial light at night (ALAN). Learn how astrophotography can help us rediscover what we’ve lost.
