As I write this, we have just returned from our bus trip to the Stratford festival to see Annie. 44 seniors took a school bus to Stratford. Yes, a school bus, officials at Stratford said we were the oldest students they had ever had and we probably were. It was simply amazing! If you get a chance to go and see Annie it’s well worth the trip.
When we went to school in the old days we did not have school trips like the kids have today. We were lucky at the end of the year to have a picnic or a field day, so we’re having our school trips now.
On the way home we stopped at Anna Mae’s for a delicious supper. We came home a happy, well fed, and tired group.
Our next trip is to Hamilton Botanical Gardens. We hope it goes as well as this one. Luckily this time we are going in a coach bus. We still have two seats left if anyone is interested.
Our monthly meeting and luncheon was well attended by another 40 seniors with bingo and lots of laughter and a few antics after.
This week we do our next flower power workshop with Forty Hills Farms & Flowers and we are doing a herb garden. This is one of the many new things provided by the senior active living grant along with our chair yoga.
Our senior games are to be held on June 12 with lots of fun, a free lunch, and just a fun day. Everyone always gets a prize. If you would like to come, sign up sheets are at the club.
Summer will be here soon and with that we stop our lunches and supper for July in August.
We still have all our regular events and we might be looking at another trip come the fall, so if you’re looking for companionship and things to do, look no farther than your Friendship Club in Lion’s Head.
