Summer is in full swing! Well, maybe not officially, but it definitely feels like it already.
As our meetings wind down for the summer season, please don’t forget that there are a number of ways in which you can support our legion and it’s members. One way is to help us out with our Saturday afternoon BBQs that will be resuming in July, every second Saturday after the meat draw. We can use some helpers who know their way around a kitchen to help with the side dishes and deserts. If you are able to help or would like more details reach out to runjude@gmail.com
Due to popular demand, Euchre is going to continue this year through the summer months, so if you would like to come out to play cards and make some new friends, come out to the branch! Next Euchre night is June 21st at 7pm.
As usual, Darts for fun continues on Thursdays at 7:30pm at the branch along with our Meat draws on Saturdays at 4:30pm. Come on out to try your luck, or your aim and share in some comradeship at the same time.
Speaking of fun! The Ladies Auxiliary Bingo is back to Wednesday nights at the Tobermory Community Centre. Did you miss it? Don’t worry, you will have a new opportunity to yell Bingo every Wednesday at 7pm all Summer long. All are welcome! Our concession sells coffee, pop and other sweet or salty treats. You can even purchase a Bingo dabber if you need one.
Have you ever wondered what happens to your Bingo dollars? Most of the money raised stays right here in Tobermory. From June 2023 to January 2024, we were able to donate $8,250 to various charities including Tobermory Outreach Committee, St. Edmunds Public School, Tobermory Primary Place, The Meeting Place, Tobermory Foodbank, Bruce Peninsula District School, Veteran’s Wishlist, The Women’s Shelter and Bruce Peninsula Hospice.
Thank you to all that attended Bingo last year. We couldn’t have made those donations without you. We hope to see you all again on Wednesday evenings at the Community Center. Doors open at 6:30pm. BINGO!
