In August the Friends of Wiarton Library welcome Sue Davies who is displaying some of her charming paintings on the library walls. Also we welcome Brenda Kerton again, who is adorning the cabinet to display a preview of the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists Studio Tour that will take place at the end of the month.
Brenda Kerton has selected signature works for the display cabinet by artisans who invite you to see more of their skillful creations on the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists 23rd Annual Studio Tour. This tour will feature 37 Artists at 16 locations around the Peninsula. There will be two Group locations: The Royal Canadian Legion on Hwy 6 and The Stokes Bay Community Center will each have multiple artists or artisans displaying their work. You are invited to visit the artists in their home environment. The tour covers an extensive area of the Bruce Peninsula, and our local artists show a great sensitivity in their work, expressing the beauty of this natural scene. Many forms of media are used, from paper to paint, pottery to weaving. To buy a piece of their art, is in a way, to take an expression of this natural area into your own life. The tour itself is an adventure. All artists extend a welcome to you and hope that you enjoy a time well spent.
The tour takes place on August 24th and 25th from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. You can pick up a map showing the locations of the studios and group exhibits at the Bruce Peninsula Artists’ Co-op Gallery at the SE corner of the Ferndale cross roads.
