The Tobermory Marketplace opens for the 2024 season on May 22 and will offer a wide range of locally produced goods.

Started in the summer of 2023 as a pilot project by the Tobermory Chamber of Commerce, the artisan market returns for the 2024 season. The Marketplace will be open every Wednesday in summer from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Head Street Ball Diamond.

Currently 15 regional vendors are confirmed, but the Chamber expects there will be about 15 to 20 vendors on a regular basis. The Marketplace will showcase locally produced items made of wool and other textiles; hand-sewn items (e.g., gloves, hats, etc.); knitted items; dog treats; sweets and treats; Lavender items; wooden carved goods; clothing; candles and small paintings.

Last year, patrons said that they liked the opportunity for a mid-week shopping excursion and enjoyed the slower pace to get to know the vendors and their products.

To become a vendor, a space is $11 for Chamber members, and $16 for non-members per day. Seasonal vendor passes are available: $140 for members and $180 for non-members.
