Christmas at The Bury Rd Garden

Submitted by Joan Regan

Another year is quickly leaving us and another on its way. Thanks to Mother Nature the gardens had lots to drink and they went to bed for their long Winter’s nap very happy.

All of my house plants have been waiting very patiently for Mom to give them some Love.

The pretty Christmas plants are in the stores… hmmm… so tempting.

I have had a Christmas Cactus and a Peace Lily for years – both are doing well. The Lily sends out blooms almost all year, however the Cactus just sits and looks pretty, not one flower, but very healthy looking. Go figure. So, I pop a pretty Xmas flower in them so they will look Christmassy.

I have two Ceramic trees that will go out – a white one that Pete’s Mom made for us way back in the seventies and a green one given to me by a friend who is no longer with us as well. Both are treasured. A few more Christmassy things and that’s it. Sure not like the past Christmases. I was told that a Xmas special could be filmed in our house, even the bathroom had Christmas pretties.

Now to really bring on the Christmas spirit, out will come my Boney M Christmas CD cranked up and Christmas will be officially here on the old Bury Rd.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Mrs. Gardener.
