In the last issue of this paper, the Bruce Men’s Shed was working in the kitchen of the Lion’s Head Legion, Branch # 202 repairing and painting the cabinets. The work is nearly complete after dozens of volunteer hours by a number of Shed members. Forty-one doors and eleven drawer fronts were removed to another location. Damaged edges were planed down, new wood edging installed and were painted bright white for a fresh look. Hinges and handles were painted black. The kitchen was washed down, primed and painted. Only a few minor updates and repairs are left to do. See the before and after photos here.

Many thanks to Harry who loaned us the use of space at his shop near Ferndale!
Shed members were also working in the storage shed at the Pike Bay Community Centre. The remains of a horse stall and two indoor outhouses for the former school were removed. The space was cleaned out, repairs made, and the walls painted white. A number of heavy duty tables made of wood planks were converted into shelves for the storage of items donated to the Centre for the auctions they hold.
