Upcoming events for November:
Poppy campaigning for Remembrance Day begins on Friday and Saturday October 27 & 28 and continues on Friday and Saturday November 3 and 4 at Scott’s Home Hardware and the LCBO in Lion’s Head. The Poppy Campaign is important to continue the observance of remembrance for the military personnel who fought for our freedoms. We will remember them, lest we forget. The donations for a poppy are used to help veterans and their families. Some of the funds are used for the Veterans’ dinner, the Homeless Veterans’ Fund, the Bursary Fund for youth, The Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Branch Charitable Foundation for hospitals’ and health clinics’ equipment and the Veterans’ Hospital Fund to name a few funds that help in our community.
The Remembrance Day services on Saturday November 11th will take place at 9:30 a.m. at Monument Corners and 10:45 a.m. at the cenotaph in Lion’s Head.
The third Saturday in November will be the Ladies Auxiliary Christmas Bazaar from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you want to have a table at the Bazaar, call the Ladies Auxiliary President, Jean Shearer at 519-793-3014.
