In The Garden: Hints From A Mrs Gardener

Well, it is December – how did that happen so quick? Just when I should have been putting out some bling for the season, there I was still thinking “house plants”? But maybe because we stopped in at Brenda’s Flowers in Wiarton. What a beautiful little shop. I was wanting a new house plant to brighten a corner up… walked out with seven (never have been good with decisions). If you’re looking for a gift for a gardening friend/relative that is the place to shop. WOW!

Wiarton sure looked pretty all decorated up for the season. It sure said “It’s Christmas”. Got to get out for a drive to see all our little towns pretty. It sure does look so festive and I do enjoy a ride around seeing it all.

I finally got into my Christmas cupboard and the inside of the house is saying Christmas, just no tree yet, but all the pretty is saying “it’s Christmas”. First thing out is our ceramic trees, one made for us by Pete’s Mom when we were first married (and that was 61 years ago in October), so I sure treasure it, and the other from a friend. The older one is white, the other green with snow on the branches. One is in the front room the other in the back room (my cozy little room). I can get away with more bling in there, and I do. So far so good with Cove – she has given every thing a coat of sniffing and just walked away. “If it isn’t food, I don’t want it.”

Never did get the red bows out for the outside trees. Should get the guys to make 1/2 dozen real big ones out of wood. I could paint them red and screw them to the trees. Ya sure, give your head a shake lady.

Kidding aside, hoping everyone has a wonderful Christmas and all the very best for the New Year coming.

Happy Gardening (inside and out)!

Hope Santa is good to all.

MERRY CHRISTMAS From Mrs Gardener
