On November 29th, 2022, the Bruce Peninsula Biosphere Association marked a significant milestone, celebrating their 20th Anniversary!

Back in 2002 the original concepts of creating this organization were being formulated, and now look at where we are. The Biosphere has participated and contributed significantly to our community through volunteer work, economic development, and governance. The organization has shifted through leaders, but the goals remained, and have been achieved. We are so proud of our work and proud of the community that supports us, thank you to everyone who has contributed to our success for the last 20 years.

To mark this milestone the Biosphere has organized an online fundraising auction through Sydenham’s Auction house based in Rockford. The online auction opens on Thursday, December 8th at 9:00am and closes on December 15th at 7:00pm. All proceeds go towards funding Biosphere projects that benefit the community and the environment. Many of our projects require us to match the funding we receive from grants; as a non-profit, meeting these monetary requirements can be very difficult, so all help is appreciated.

We would like to thank our generous donors whose contributions are so valuable to the continuation of our cause; Deb Jeffery, Maureen Munden, Margarethe Vanderpas, Mark Nadjiwan, Craig Frohlich, David Saunders, Lin Souliere, Margaret Kelch, Atlantis Esthetics & Spa, Happy Hearts Tent & Trailer Park, Birgit’s Café, Bare Birch, Josies Fashions, The Shops at 84 Main, Peninsula Pet Supplies, Scotts Home Hardware, Tobermory Brewing Company & Grill, Bayshore Country Feeds, Forty Hills Farm & Flowers, Fierce Deer, Logan’s Southampton Store, Southampton Olive Oil Company, Bennett’s Great Canadian Dollarstore, Georgian Bay Soapworks, Gleason Brook Pottery, Mike Campbell, Caeli Mazara, Michael Warkentin, Katherine McLeod, Glen Estill, Pat Sein, Elizabeth Thorn and many others who have supported us along the way.

There are some fantastic items that have been donated, you can access the auction online at www.rockfordauctioncentre.hibid.com. We appreciate our community’s support towards our projects to protect this beautiful place we call home. Many thanks to everyone.
