We could not have asked for better weather for this years’ Remembrance Day service. There was a full parade marching from the branch to the Cenotaph and many individuals came out to see the ceremony. Afterward there was a light lunch at the branch provided by the Ladies Auxiliary and the lunch was wonderful as usual.
Thank you to all who came out to honour and pay their respects to all of our Veterans.
Update on the Dunk’s Bay Memorial
Phase 1 of the Dunks Bay Memorial Project – Base removal and replacement with a concrete pad, is now completed with heartfelt thanks to Legion member Pat Boyle of Boyle Concrete and generous donations from our community. Phase 2, the expansion and updating of the memorial stone and placement, is to be completed by June 1, 2023.
Your donations make a difference! If you wish to contribute to this update of the memorial to our veterans please consider sending a donation to: donate@tobermorylegion.org. To date, the necessary funds have been raised for both phases of this project. This community is amazing. However, we are attempting to raise extra so there are funds set aside to update the stone each year as needed.

Military Service Book
The 9th edition of the Military Service Book is now at the Legion. Shirley Johnstone, Chair of Veterans and Seniors Affairs, submitted 26 names for this edition and 22 of those are included in this book. To date the names and Military Service histories of 88 Tobermory veterans have been listed. WW1, WW2, Korea, Afghanistan and NATO are covered. The Books are free and Kandice has a list of veterans in each book. Please see Kandice to get your copy.
