SERVICE – WE ASSIST, NURTURE, SUPPORT
At our regular November meeting, April Patry, the Executive Director for Foundation Bruce Peninsula Hospitals presented an overview of the activities of the organization. The information was very interesting and our Club continued with support to local healthcare that had been the tradition with the former Lioness group with a donation of $1,000.
Our one fundraiser for this month is the Curling Bonspiel. Just a reminder that if you are looking for a fun day of curling on November 26th, please give Lindsay deMalmache a call for further information at 519-795-7045.
We had one new member inducted to the Club at our meeting. We are pleased to welcome Lisa VanGeem. She has already been helping out with many events, so we feel fortunate to have Lisa join us. Also, we were excited to have a prospective new member join our November meeting. We hope she enjoyed the experience and will become a member.
Remember if you are looking for a way to make a positive impact in the Community, please contact Roberta Mielhausen at 519-793-3555 or 519-793-4110.
The new Executive for 2023 was sworn in at this meeting. President – Cathy McLay, 1st Vice – Katie Reimer-Catteau, Treasurer – Bev Miller, Secretary – Roberta Mielhausen, Directors – Dannah Oliver & Lindsay deMalmanche. We expressed our gratitude to outgoing President Jane Clayton for all her hard work managing the transition from a Lioness group to S.W.A.N.S. Great job Jane and thanks!!
Christmas Bazaar December 3rd
We will be holding a 2nd meeting on November 30th to finalize all the details for the Christmas Bazaar. Be sure to stop by the Friendship Club beside the arena in Lion’s Head on December 3rd between 10:00am and 2:00pm. There will be an amazing selection of items to purchase from our bazaar tables.
Also, new this year, the SWANS have been applying their craft skills by creating greenery pots for your Christmas décor. The “ever popular” bake sale table will be loaded with goodies to help with your Christmas baking.
A tasty lunch of homemade soup and sandwich, Christmas cookies, tea or coffee will be available for purchase. We look forward to seeing you there!!
