The response from the community to purchase markers to be placed on the gravesite of those Veterans interred at Dunk’s Bay Cemetery has been great; particularly the sponsorship for Veterans who may not have any family left in the area.
If you wish to purchase a marker for your family member or sponsor a marker; it is not too late. Please e-transfer to donate@tobermorylegion.org Please put in the memo section that this is for a marker or you can take a cheque or cash to the branch when we are open and Kandice will assist you. The cost to purchase is $25.00.
The markers will be placed on the gravesites in time for Decoration Day on June 12. The idea is to have the markers remain in place year-round as a visual tribute to those who have served each and every one of us and our country.
Decoration Day is Sunday, June 12 at 12:00 (noon) at the Dunk’s Bay Cemetery. There is usually a church service at 10:30 am but unfortunately at the time of this writing there is no confirmation on that. So, to be determined; please watch Facebook for updates.
Club L – IT’S BACK!!! Come out to the Legion for dancing on Saturday, June 11. There will be lots of dancing and music will be provided by Tobermory’s own DJ MAX. Starts at 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. Cover charge to get into this fantastic event is $5.00 for members; $10 for non-members. Proof of membership and ID required to enter.
So put on your dancing shoes and come on out to the best hot spot in town.

–General Membership Meeting – Tuesday, June 14 at 8:00 pm. If you are a member, come to the meeting. Find out what is going on and have your say.
–Meat Draws – every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. All are welcome; come on out and win some meat! Cost is $7.00 for 3 draws, plus the bonus draw.
–Bingo – will resume on Wednesday, June 1 at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Centre run by the Ladies Auxiliary. Ages 19 and over, doors open at 6:30 pm, bingo starts at 7:15 pm.
–Darts for Fun – every Thursday at 7:30 pm; cost is $2.00 and ten cents to the duck if you are so lucky!
–Bridge – every Monday at the branch at 1:00 pm.
Branch Hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m.
