The Lion’s Head Marina was a hub of activity on 9 and 10 October 2026 with the annual ritual of lifting the boats out of the water to be stored for winter.

On 9 October, the cradles for the boats had all been retrieved from their summer storage from a local farm property and were awaiting positioning for their winter resting place with their respective boats.

Vanwyck Crane Service of Owen Sound was on site early on the first day. Over the next two days, there was a series of orchestrated activities as 50 boats were lifted out of the water, onto the cradles and prepared for winter storage.
