The annual yard sale at The Church of St. Edmund’s has become a much-loved community event.
Residents support this sale in large numbers as all the funds raised do not go toward church operating expenses; instead, they are given back to the community. That is why so many local people are eager to take part. In recent years, friends and neighbours have helped sort donations during the week before the sale and have volunteered on the day itself. This year’s sale will be held on July 18th.
Past recipients of the funds raised have included the Tobermory Day Care Centre, The Meeting Place, Tobermory Outreach and the Women’s Shelter in Owen Sound.
As you clear out storage spaces or do some de-cluttering, please set aside items to donate to this sale Donations can be dropped off at the church, at the end of Highway 6 in Tobermory, from Monday, July 13th to Friday, July 17th. Volunteers will be at the church between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to receive them.
If you are unable to drop off your items, please call Jane at 519-502-5144, Bernie at 519-596-2260, Andrea Buck 519-400-0550 or Lee at 519-795-7440 to arrange a pickup.
As you tackle your spring cleaning, please set aside items you no longer need and are still in good condition. We can accept almost anything, but please do not donate mattresses, old appliances, or large furniture. Every dollar raised supports local community outreach programmes.
