May 6, 2026 – (Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation, ON) – Three local residents are facing multiple charges following a joint drug trafficking investigation in Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation.
The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), working in partnership with the Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service, began the investigation in December 2025.
On April 30, 2026, at approximately 12:00 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Rouse Road in South Bruce Peninsula. Members of the Grey Bruce CSCU, Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service, and the OPP Canine Unit arrested the three individuals. A search warrant was subsequently executed on their motor vehicle, resulting in a small amount of suspected cocaine with an estimated potential street value of approximately $1,000, along with approximately $1,500 in Canadian currency.
Following the vehicle search, Grey Bruce CSCU executed a second search warrant at a residence located on Chick’s Road in Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation.
As a result, three individuals were charged:
A 33-year-old, from Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking (CDSA)
A 33-year-old, from Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking (CDSA)
A 36-year-old, from Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation
• Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (CC)
• Possession of a Prohibited Weapon Contrary to Probation Order (CC)
All accused were released and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on June 11, 2026.

Suspect Arrested Following Increased Police Presence In SBP
May 6/26, (SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – The Grey Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is providing an update regarding the ongoing investigation into multiple break and enter occurrences reported in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
On May 5th, members of the Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Unit located the suspect at an address on 8th Street in Owen Sound. At approximately 11:45 a.m., officers arrested the individual without incident.
A 33-year-old, of no fixed address, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
-Break and Enter
-Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
-Fail to Comply with Undertaking
-Fail to Comply with Probation Order
-Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order
-Carry Firearm, Weapon in a Careless Manner
-Mischief Over $5,000
-Theft Under $5,000
-Theft of Motor Vehicle (Two Counts)
The accused was held for a bail hearing on May 5th before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound and has since been remanded into custody.
