The Lion’s Head Farmers’ Market Spring Market held at the Bruce Peninsula District School in Lion’s Head proved to be a popular Sunday outing on April 19, 2026.
Market Manager Charlene Jordan says that she deliberately chose a Sunday for the Spring Market so that local workers, who typically work on Saturdays, could come out to enjoy the Market.
After a long winter, residents were ready for a social and shopping outing that harks of warmer days. The Market has long been a central community hub for locals and visitors, and the Spring market definitely reflected this flavour of community connections. There was the hum of conversation as neighbours and friends caught up on each other’s lives, vendors reacquainted themselves with their customers, and interacted with their fellow vendors.
The market goers, as always, expressed their awe at the wide range and high quality of product offerings and were happy to meet the nine new vendors along with thirty of the regular summer vendors. The vendors reported that they had good sales and were glad they participated in the Spring Market. The Market enjoyed a steady flow of patrons throughout the opening hours from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Summer Market starts May 16
The Lion’s Head Farmers Market is back for the 2026 season at the beach in Lion’s Head. Opening day is May 16 , 2026.
The vendors are gearing up for the Summer Market and say they are excited to participate either as a full time or occasional vendor. The market is still looking to attract more farms and food producers from the region.
Everyone is welcome to come out on Saturday mornings in the summer, treat yourself to freshly grilled sandwiches and homemade treats, stock up on local foods and shop at the many artisan stalls. Enjoy the social time and listen to live music from the ever popular Market Band.
Table Share program
Charlene is excited to promote the Table Share program. She says “this initiative is designed to assist start-up farmers in their growth and success.” If a vendor does not have sufficient product for a full booth, they can sell their products by sharing a table with another vendor. This program is open to full time or occasional vendors.
Interested vendors are invited to contact Charlene for more information at email address: lionsheadfm@hotmail.com
Take a bag, leave a bag
An initiative to encourage the use of reusable bags invites market goers in need of a shopping bag to take a bag from the selection located in a box at the front of the market. If you have extra bags at home, please consider leaving a bag or two for this Market initiative.
The Market will be open every Saturday from Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving weekend. The Market runs from 9 a.m. until noon, and on the long weekends, open until 1 p.m. The Market is located at “the beach” in and next to the beach pavilion in Lion’s Head.
