Bruce Men’s Shed would really like to thank the wonderful Bruce Peninsula Press for everything their team does for Peninsula residents and businesses. So many residents truly enjoy reading about and learning about the wide variety of groups, initiatives and activities that engage so many from the far corners of the Bruce. I’ve been told by residents outside the coverage area that they would love to have as much local content as the Bruce Peninsula Press brings together.
Bruce Men’s Shed owes a great deal to the paper for our success; in a very short period of time we grew by being able to communicate our achievements and activities. Hardly a week goes by these days without a phone call or email, asking about something they read, how they can join, or inquire about a product our woodworkers made.
That leads us to another perk of writing this; putting a plug in to let people know that we are again building raised planters this spring. We are also taking orders for wren houses in either a hanging version or one that can be mounted on a platform, a building or a tree. If you’re interested in joining us for a build-a-thon, where we plan to make 40 to 50 bird houses in kit form, just contact us.
Our next monthly Saturday meeting is April 18 from 9am-11am. Every Monday morning we meet for coffee from 9am-11am at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 202, 6 Hellyer Road on Highway 6, 4 km north of Ferndale. Doors open at 8:45am.
There is also a Bruce Men’s Shed coffee gathering every Wednesday at 10am in Wiarton at 451 Frank street, Matthew Mutch hosting. If you would like further information on how to get involved with the Men’s Shed movement, please contact us at brucemensshed@gmail.com or call Gerry at (519) 793–3005.
