On Thursday October 9th the volunteers of the Lion’s Head & District Food Bank gathered at the Country Church to assemble the Thanksgiving food hampers, which were delivered/picked up the next morning. 48 hampers averaging 22 lbs per hamper were distributed throughout our community. This translates to approximately a little over 1,000 lbs of food!
Over the past 7 years, the needs in our community have more than doubled. We are VERY fortunate to live in such a generous community. Without the support of individuals, groups and local business we would not be able to meet our current needs as we are not financially supported by local, provincial or federal governments.
With the holiday season approaching we will now start preparing for the Christmas hampers. Please connect with us by DECEMBER 1st at the latest if you could use a little help this Christmas with your meal. All Christmas food hampers will be distributed December 19th.
