A cool but clear evening on September 20th brought out close to 300 people to enjoy an outdoor roast pork meal with all the fixings, a local lineup of live music and a laser light show, all at the Tobermory Community Park.

This fall event started 10 years ago with the generosity of And-Rod Contracting hosting an end of year staff party. More recently, And-Rod has partnered with The Meeting Place (TMP) to grow a community event and fundraiser.

Over $5,650 was raised in donations from the community and businesses, going to support TMP multi-service hub at 20 Centennial Drive.

In traditional rural fashion, so many volunteers and businesses contributed. Jose and Amanda at And-Rod Contracting and The Meeting Place Board would like to thank their amazing staff and volunteer crews; as well as Grant Litt, Marty Oblak, Max Lough, Fish & Chip Place, Escarpment Heights, Peacocks Foodland, Little Tub Bakery, Princess Hotel and Restaurant, Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula, all the musicians; door prizes from Blue Heron Company, Tobermory Wave Adventures, Shipwreck Lees, Electric Woodpecker, The Crowsnest Pub, Mementos of Tobermory, Remax Bruce Peninsula, Wilson Home Building Centre, Natures Gifts, Hummingbird House, Las Chulas, Fathom Five Fishing Tours, Reader’s Haven, RONA and Summer House Park.

We can only look forward to next year’s Pig Roast at the Park – a signature end of season community celebration.
