The Fall sailboat races on Isthmus Bay were held on 13 and 14 September 2025. The crew sailing Tryst emerged as the winner of the Ken Hodge Cup.
On Saturday, due to poor wind conditions, only one race was held. A sailor described the wind condition as “pitiful” while another said his boat fell into a “hole” and could not catch the wind.
Saturday’s race winner was Tryst. Sunday had slightly more favorable conditions; Elusive was the winner. The sailboat Tryst won the overall event, winning the Ken Hodge Cup.
The Ken Hodge Cup is named after a former Lion’s Head Harbourmaster and avid sailor. Ken was also a well-known musician and in 2011 founded Harbourside Music. This very popular music series continues to be held every Friday night during the summer months in Lion’s Head.
The fall races are typically held on the same weekend as the Terry Fox Run and each year, the crews donate to the Terry Fox Run.
