Re: Water and Wastewater Master Plans for Tobermory and Lion’s Head
WSP Land Development & Municipal Engineering Manager, Chris Wilson, provided an overview of the Tobermory and Lion’s Head Water and Wastewater Master Plans Project.
Mr. Wilson noted that the project is currently in Phase 2, which focuses on public and stakeholder consultation to present the recommended solutions identified to date.
Council asked about the upcoming Public Information Centres (PIC) for the Project.
Mr. Wilson noted that the purpose of the PIC’s are:
· Introduce the studies and learn more about the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process being followed.
· To review the study areas, problems to be addressed, proposed alternatives, evaluation of the alternatives, and the preliminary preferred solution.
· To outline how feedback can be provided on the information presented, and how to stay informed and involved.
Mr. Wilson noted the follow locations and dates for the upcoming PIC’s:
· Tobermory Community Centre – Wednesday, August 27, 2025 (Morning)
· Lion’s Head Rotary Hall – Wednesday, August 27, 2025 (Afternoon)
Alternative solutions for the Tobermory and Lion’s Head Water and Wastewater Master Plans Project were presented to Council.
Council asked about the potential costs and scope of work for the project, and about including the project cost information in the PIC materials..
Mr. Wilson that once the Master Plans have been complteded, more information will be available to assist with grant funding for the project.
