The Pike Bay Community Association is hosting its third annual Canada Day Celebration at the Pike Bay Community Park, 732 Pike Bay Road, on Tuesday, July 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pike Bay Community Association President, Debbie Dover, said, “[This event] is for friends and neighbours to come together to celebrate this beautiful country that we live in. We like to call Pike Bay the small village with the big heart.”

This family friendly festivity will boast many activities, such as face painting, volleyball, bubbles, games, monarch butterflies, music and much more! There will be a Pike Bay photo frame on site, perfect for family and friends to dress up and capture a festive memory.

Some local volunteer firefighters will make a special appearance at the event with their big red Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula firetruck on display.

Local business, By the Bay, has generously donated hotdogs for the event and Bear Tracks/Bear Cubs will also be supporting the event this year.

Lianne Timbers-Sharpe, Grey-Bruce Realty Inc. will be hosting a Fishpond activity. The Lion’s Head Legion will be distributing cookies. The Bruce Peninsula Men’s Shed and St. Edmunds Museum will be leading hands-on activities for kids.

Attendees are encouraged to wear red and white and bring a chair and water bottle.

Dover said, “An activity of this magnitude takes a lot of planning and volunteers. We love our volunteers and welcome anyone to help throughout the year with any of our projects.”

More sponsors are always welcome. Donations are appreciated and will be provided to community enhancements. For more information, you can contact pikebay.ontario@gmail.com
