Happenings at the Lion’s Head Legion Branch 202

Submitted by Sharron Colter, Secretary and Public Relations Officer (PRO)

The Lion’s Head Legion has hosted several group activities this month. The S.W.A.N.S., the Lion’s Head and Ferndale Lions Club, the Bruce Men’s Shed, Darts, and the Ladies Auxiliary Luncheon for the ladies of the community and some catered Christmas parties.

Thank you to all of the veterans and their families and the community for the support given to the Lion’s Head Legion. Through the Legion Poppy Fund, which is different from the general account of the Legion, there are plans ahead for a veterans’ dinner in the spring, support for the air cadet corps in Owen Sound, support for the hospital foundation for equipment, support for the veterans in hospital or long-term care and bursaries for higher education, and contest prizes for the Bruce Peninsula District School Remembrance poster, essay and poetry contest.

See the list of winners with first name and last name initial. The contest was held on November 15th and recently judged. The prizes were presented at the school Wednesday December 11, 2024. The prizes are made possible through the Community Poppy Campaign donations. Congratulations to the following students:
