SERVICE – WE ASSIST, NURTURE, SUPPORT

Submitted by Bonnie Warder

December is my favourite month of the year but it is always a busy one! Treasurer Bev Miller makes every effort to make our donation to the local Food Banks before Christmas and this year is no exception. It’s important to our membership that we help to make sure everyone in our community has an enjoyable Christmas.

The annual Christmas Bazaar was held on December 7th, just ahead of the Santa Claus parade in Lion’s Head. It was a great day and successful in spite of the weather! It is the perfect time to have a little visit with others that we might not bump into otherwise.

A huge thanks to all the generous businesses and shoppers that supported our final fundraisers of the year!

The SWANS do not have a regular business meeting in December, just a fun time. This year our holiday gathering was held at Bear Tracks Inn & Restaurant in downtown Ferndale. We all take our specialty appetizers and a small gift for a game that I have never known the proper name to, but it never disappoints with providing many laughs. We all need a break from the work that we do for fundraising and special thanks to Roberta for providing the space for this event.

On behalf of the SWANS, we wish everyone all the best for the upcoming holiday season and an amazing 2025!
