Thanks to everyone who came out to our first community Pancake Breakfast of the 2024 season held on Sunday, May 19th! The event was a great success and we served 119 delicious breakfasts at Rotary Hall that morning! Rotarians and Friends of Rotary served up breakfasts which included pancakes with real maple syrup, scrambled eggs, pork sausages, hash browns, orange juice and coffee/tea. Our next scheduled Pancake Breakfast will be held on the Canada Day weekend, on Sunday, June 30th at the Rotary Pavilion next to Lion’s Head Beach. We hope to see you there!

Rotary thanks the many ‘Friends of Rotary’ who help out with our Pancake Breakfast events, from grilling food on our BBQs, to helping out on the serving line to serve breakfasts, to washing up during and after the breakfast event.

We also thank our generous individual and business sponsors who provide product or financial support to help defray the costs of putting on our Pancake Breakfasts, allowing Rotary to return more money from our fundraisers directly back to the community. A list of 2023 individual and business sponsors can be found on our Club website (https://www.rotarynbp.org/stories/sponsorship), and this will be updated shortly to reflect our 2024 sponsors! If you or your business may be interested in sponsoring our Pancake Breakfast events this year, please contact Rotarian Doug Embleton at (226) 923-1604 for further information.

There was a large turnout on Saturday, May 11th at Rotary Hall to remember and celebrate the life of long-time Rotarian Bob ‘Bonzaii’ Spearing. Along with Bob’s daughter Denise Spearing and other family members, many past and present Rotarians, as well as friends and neighbours from the community, came out to remember the remarkable life of our dear friend Bob Spearing. Thanks to the ladies from the Peninsula SWANS Club who prepared and served a delicious buffet lunch at the event. Rotarians tended bar at the event as well.
