If you are a Legion member you are more than welcome to attend the General Membership meetings held every 2nd Tuesday of every month except for July and August. Meetings begin at 8:00 pm and last about an hour. This is your opportunity as a member to see how the branch is doing financially, learn about what is going on and to raise any issues or concerns that you may have.
The next meeting on May 9 is elections for the following positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and a few executive member at large positions. If you wish to take on a position on the Executive; this is the meeting to attend.
The position of Treasurer is appointed but if you are interested in this position please come to the meeting.
The last night for Euchre for this spring will be Friday, April 28 at 7:00 pm. Cost to play is $5.00. All are welcome. Remember that this is progressive euchre so you don’t have to be stuck with one partner all evening.
On April 29 from 8:00 to 11:00 pm the Legion is holding a Country Dance. Put on your sequined shirt, cowboy boots, and croon to Waylon, Willie and the boys. There will be a donation jar for the Alzheimer’s Society. Come on out and make some memories.
The next Trivia Night is Friday, May 12, the host is Maarten Taal. As always a $10 donation to the Foodbank is the entry fee.
A special thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary for running the winter bingos; especially to Penny Hellyer for organising the whole shebang and making sure it runs smoothly. Winter bingo is over now and this will give everyone an opportunity to get your dabbers ready as summer bingo begins on Wednesday, June 7.
The branch hours as of the beginning of May will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 3:00 to 9:00 pm; unless otherwise noted.
