Sharron Colter, our most dedicated Branch Secretary, has received yet another award. This time a plaque from The Northern Bruce Peninsula Community Support Committee, recognizing the tremendous work Sharron does in helping Seniors Citizens, in our area, stay in their own homes with help from the community where necessary.

President Richard Smith presented Sharron her plaque at the August Branch Executive Meeting.

UPCOMING EVENTS

At time of publication our Branch will have concluded our annual Fish Fry Event. Photographs will be included in our next press release.

This summer we saw the introduction of Corn Hole competitions on our Legion Grounds. The event is becoming more and more popular requiring the need to obtain additional boards. The last event, this year, is scheduled for Thursday August 25th at 1:00 pm.

As Corn Hole comes to an end, many of the players are also keen darts throwers. Therefore due to popular demand, Branch Darts will commence on September 8th, commencing at 1:00pm. Darts will continue throughout, autumn, winter and early spring, every Monday and Thursday, (except the first Thursday of each month due to the regular Branch Business Meeting). Cards will also be available on each planned Darts day. Darts for Meat will commence on Saturday, September 17th, again commencing at 1:00pm, then will be held every other Saturday.

Ruck2
Remember, which has received lots of Press coverage, from the commencement of the Trek, walking the whole Bruce Trail from Tobermory to Stoney Creek concluded on August 7th. 20 Legion Branches over the length of the trail hosted the Trekkers for food and sleeping arrangements. The Trekkers survived, strains, cuts, poison ivy and one near fatal fall!! Large donations to their cause were received along the length of the Trail. LADIES AUXILIARY APPEAL

Yet again our phenomenal Ladies Auxiliary are appealing for members. This wonderful team of Ladies provide meal assistance to numerous “not for profit” events in our community. Legion, Veterans, Lions, Swans, seniors groups, the list goes on and on.

Please contact Jean Shearer, Auxiliary President, at 519-793-3014 to offer to help.
