As spring starts to emerge, we are preparing our Museum for what we hope will be a busy season.
Our opening days and hours this year will be the same as previous years, between 11AM and 4PM – weekends only from May 20 to end of June, daily in July and August and then weekends only until October 8.
During the summer, we will have demonstrations from local crafters, host events and have special exhibits. Our programming of these activities is currently being developed and once finalized will be shared on social media and through articles in the Bruce Peninsula Press.
Last fall, we relocated a pioneer log cabin from a Parks Canada location to the Museum property. This spring, the final placement of the cabin on the foundation will take place and the restoration process will begin. Over the coming weeks, the scope of work will be assessed and the resources we require will be determined.
Our Museum is of significant historical importance to our community. However, for us to continue to operate as we have, we need helping hands.
We rely on volunteers to greet and oversee visitors as they explore the museum and the grounds. While knowledge of the area is helpful, it’s not necessary. Hours and days of the week are flexible.
We need volunteers who are able to do odd jobs, from gardening to minor repairs.
We will also need volunteers who can help with the restoration of the pioneer cabin.
In short, we have a wide range of activities that needs your support.
