The Second Annual Holiday QR code Merchant Tour along with a three day Pop-Up Shop featured 24 stops for patrons to visit and purchase local products and services. One of the goals of the event is to draw focus to local shopping options.

Organizer Charlotte Chinn says there was great feedback on the event. Chinn was pleasantly surprised to learn that many of the patrons visited over half of the venues on the Merchant Tour and most patrons diligently scanned the QR codes posted at participating vendors. Overall, more than 350 ballots were submitted for the draw. Chinn says there is over $1,000 in prizes to be won. Vendors were happy to participate in the event and appreciated the opportunity to connect with other vendors and shoppers.
Three day Pop-up Store held at Rotary Hall
From 24-26 November, a pop-up store was hosted at the Rotary Hall in Lion’s Head. Each day featured a different mix of 8-10 vendors, mostly female entrepreneurs, offering a wide selection of food, home decor items, handmade household products, clothing and clothing accessories.
Chinn explains the aim of the Pop-up store was to provide an easily accessible, central location commercial retail space, especially for those small-scale proprietors who did not have a brick and mortar store. Chinn was excited that the Tobermory Chamber of Commerce hosted a booth at the Pop-up event, Chinn says it is another example how the businesses and agencies of Northern Bruce Peninsula connect and work together.
