The Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists held their Christmas Festival Art show on December 3, 2022, returning after a two year absence due to COVID-19.
Held in the gymnasium of the Bruce Peninsula District School (BPDS), seven members of the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists participated in the Art Show, along with guest artists hosted by the Art Shoppe. The group of all local artists displayed a selection of painting, pottery, glasswork, photography, jewelry and wood crafts. The Bruce Trail Conservancy were on hand to showcase donated art which were being sold to raise monies for the club and offered information on their various programs.
Local artist Kristin Farrier, also well-known for leading contraband dances, donated artworks, with all the proceeds going to the Art Program at the Bruce Peninsula District School. The donated artworks included paintings, sculptures, textile arts and drawings.
Farrier exhibited in many juried shows in Canada and the US and her works hang in many private collections. Farrier loved teaching art to school children and “is truly thrilled that the sale of her art will help the students here at BPDS learn to share her passion for creating art.”
The sale of the art works raised $1,005 for the Art Program at BPDS.
