Nine members of the Ladies of Note held a “flash mob” performance at Lion’s Head Farmers’ Market on 16 July 2022.

Ladies of Note is an A cappella choir, consisting of 14 members under the direction of Vicki Corcoran with five sopranos, five second sopranos and four altos. They are all located on the Bruce Peninsula… some from South, some from North.

Before COVID-19, they did their first “flash mob” performance at the market and enjoyed it so much that they made a decision to do it again this year when they got together in the spring to prepare for their summer session.

They performed at Pike Bay and Lion’s Head United Church a few weeks ago and on this Saturday at St. John’s United Church in Wiarton.

The Ladies say their music genre ranges from Sacred to Secular. They have enjoyed singing musical tunes from Cats, movie tunes like My Heart Will Go On from the Titanic and Edelweiss from Sound of Music, Billy Joel’s The Longest Time, Both Sides Now, Come Follow Me.

The group says they are willing to try anything once!

Their repertoire of Christmas tunes range from the sublime Mary’s Boy Child to the modern-day Nutcracker Jingles and Santa Baby.

The group will take a break until September when they will gather again to prepare for their Christmas concert.
