Bruce County Donates $10,000 to Lion’s Head & District Food Bank

The Lion’s Head & District Food Bank recently received a cheque for $10,000 from The Bruce County Social Services Relief Fund. The donation comes at a perfect time as Christmas donations have been spent and the summer months are upon us (when monetary donations decrease). Summer historically was a quieter time for our food bank when seasonal employees were working. Since covid and rising food prices, the need for our food hampers is the same or sometimes greater than in the remainder of the year.

Much needed, non-perishable food items were donated by the Myles Bay Shore community. A door to door collection of food items was gratefully received by the Food Bank.

Several packages of Tassimo coffee pods were donated to the food bank through the Food Recovery Program. If you know of anyone that has a Tassimo coffee maker please have them contact Darlene at 519-378-8842. It would be a shame for these to go to waste so we are willing to trade for a donation.
