Are you a gardener or farmer in the Bruce Peninsula? If so, you may be interested in Franken Farm Seed Company, a new local business that offers organic, sustainably produced vegetable and flower seeds. The farm focuses on unusual and endangered varieties, particularly colourful and uniquely shaped tomatoes. This coming season the farm will be expanding its repertoire to include more native wildflowers, rare hot peppers, and a greater diversity of obscure vegetable varieties.
Franken Farm is owned by local grower Megan Franken, who has been working and studying with local farmers since moving to the Bruce in 2019. She was inspired to start the business by her passion for vegetable preservation and sustainable, small-scale agriculture.
Franken Farm seeds are available at www.frankenfarm.ca, where orders can be placed for delivery, shipping or pickup.
