Things To Know Before You Go To Your Local Waste Disposal Site

The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula has three waste disposal sites Eastnor, Lindsay and St. Edmunds. If you are planning a trip to one of them, especially as you do your fall clean-up this year, here are some important things you should know before you go. 

• Check the days and hours of operation before you go. 

-This information can be found on the municipal website at www.northbrucepeninsula.ca or in the newspaper. 

Eastnor Waste Disposal Site
1252 West Road, Lion’s Head

-April 1 to October 31: Monday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

-November 1 to March 31: Monday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Lindsay Waste Disposal Site
627 Ira Lake Road, Miller Lake

-April 1 to October 31: Friday and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

-November 1 to March 31: Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

St. Edmunds Waste Disposal Site
71 McArthur Road, Tobermory

-April 1 to October 31: Wednesday and Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

-November 1 to March 31: Wednesday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

• Please check in with the site attendant at the scale house upon arrival. 

-The site attendant will check that your items are acceptable and give you directions. 

• Recycling programs are available for the following items: 

-eWaste

-Tires

-Scrap metal

-Polystyrene (packaging material only)

-Mattresses

-Car Batteries 

-Refrigeration/freon units

-Propane tanks 

-Bale wrap (Eastnor site only)

*Fees are applicable for some items. 

• Leaf and yard waste is accepted during regular operating hours at all three waste disposal sites. 

-Do not mix food waste with leaf and yard waste. 

-Consider using a backyard composter for your yard waste – it is easy and could save you a trip to the garden centre!

• Blue box recyclable materials are accepted during regular operating hours at all three waste disposal sites. 

-Please make sure recyclables are clean and cardboard has been flattened. 

-Visit www.northbrucepeninsula.ca find out what is accepted in Northern Bruce Peninsula’s blue box program. 

• Hazardous household and special waste is not regularly accepted at waste disposal sites. 

-Bruce County hosts hazardous waste collection days, and a schedule for 2022 dates will be released in the Spring. Please plan ahead and store these items in a safe place over the winter.

•Plan to pay by credit/debit/account. Cash is not accepted.
