Volunteers at the Lion’s Head and District Food Bank prepare books to place in Christmas 2020 food hampers.

Friends of the Lion’s Head Library was certainly busy during the month of December. With Covid restrictions in place we sadly missed giving books to children after the Santa Claus parade. So instead, books were taken to the Bruce Peninsula Family Centre and distributed to the children by the staff. Also, children and teen books were placed in the Christmas food hampers provided by the Lion’s Head and District Food Bank. Overall more than 125 books were distributed to children from Lion’s Head and area!

Friends recently made a donation to assist in funding a new take home activity program which will benefit children and adults of all of Bruce County, Friends is also supporting a monthly gift certificate draw that was held at the end of December 2020. Congratulations to December’s lucky winners and good luck to those entering the draw over the next few months.

Children from Bruce Peninsula Family Centre display the books they received from Friends of the Lion’s Head Library.

We remain hopeful that our annual book sale will be on for this summer. Please save any books you may wish to donate and hold onto them at your home. As much as we appreciate your enthusiasm, books cannot be dropped off at the library due to lack of space. If you know of any space(s) that may be available for storage of books or you would like to volunteer space, please contact Donna Hambleton at hambleton1@eastlink.ca or 519-793-4612. Further book sale information will be posted as soon as possible.

Please be sure to check out the library’s website at http://library.brucecounty.on.ca/ for further information on what the Lion’s Head Library has to offer.
