The Trekking with Llamas at Forty Hills Ranch was very successful, raising $1,185.00 for the Lion’s Head & District Food Bank. Many thanks go to Keith and Mary Fowler for organizing this event. See Facebook or www.fortyhillsranch.ca for more information on Forty Hills Ranch and trekking with Llamas.

The Food Bank also received a donation of gift cards from Hellyer’s Foodland. These cards were funded by customer donations at the cash register. Thank you to Foodland shoppers for your generous donations to the Lion’s Head & District Food Bank.

Easter Hampers for Lion’s Head & Surrounding Area

The Lion’s Head & District Food Bank prepared Easter food hampers this year. This is the first time in many years since the food bank has done this.

In total, 26 hampers were prepared and distributed to people in our community. The hampers had all the fixings for a ham dinner with hot cross buns, dessert and even a chocolate bunny!

Special thanks to Merilyn Davies for sewing the colourful bowl cosies for the hampers. Volunteer Sheryl Roberts did an amazing job planning and implementing this successful Easter hamper project!
