In November of last year, Bruce Grey Owen Sound NDP lost a valuable member – Gord Lawson.
Gord was a welcome voice at our Executive meetings where he served as our Vice President for the federal party. A contractor in the Bruce Peninsula, he was always looking for sustainable ways to build housing.
He contributed to our submission to the federal government on affordable housing (at http://www.bgos-ndp.ca/submission-to-federal-government-consultation-on-affordable-housing-bruce-grey-owen-sound-ndp-20-october-2016.html).
He was a passionate advocate for a basic income guarantee for Canadians and felt strongly about the NDP values of equality among people and kindness to the environment. The Executive has purchased a grove of trees in his memory with an inscription from the poet John Donne: “Because I am involved with mankind.”
