Recent meetings of Northern Bruce Peninsula’s Municipal Council have mainly dealt with routine matters. But there is a lot going on behind the scenes.

The Tourism Advisory Group, which assembles representatives from the municipality, National Parks, Provincial Parks, Bruce County and several other agencies and stakeholder organizations, held its inaugural meeting. Participants and organizers hope for an improved level of cooperation and coordination.

Several other processes are underway as well — the Climate Change Committee, the Strategic Plan process, the Sustainable Housing task force and the Short-Term Accommodation regulation process.

The municipality recently held Open House Meetings on Zoom to sample public opinion about recreation, transport and safety.

The annual budget process is underway, which takes up a lot of meeting time.

The repair of Isthmus Bay Road has begun.
