Although we are all struggling to adjust to living in this new and constantly changing world, one thing that hasn’t changed amid all of this chaos is the fact that we are surrounded by an incredibly supportive community.

Sadly, just about every community event, fundraiser, celebration, tournament, gathering, etc., have been cancelled or postponed as we fight to ‘plank the curve’ in this battle against Covid-19. Undoubtedly, we are all looking so forward to being on the other side of the Corona Virus for so many reasons, but top of the list will surely be to gather as friends, family and neighbors again. In the meantime, Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation invites you to gather ‘virtually’ by participating in our 25th Annual Spring ONLINE Auction.

There is a constant need for new medical equipment to diagnose and care for patients in our local hospitals. We need the support of our community to purchase this equipment. This year’s proceeds from the Spring Auction will help fund beds, mattresses, stretchers, and information technology upgrades and accessible doors for Bruce Peninsula Hospitals. Additionally, a click to donate to BPHSF’s Covid-19 Relief Fund will be hosted on the Spring Auction homepage.

This year’s auction proudly features the ‘Best of the Bruce’- local artwork, growers, services, experiences and dining, as well as an assortment of antiques & collectables. Additionally, Air Canada has generously donated 2 Economy Class return tickets to any Air Canada scheduled destination in North America including Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean!

Worthy of special mention; this past fall, the grade 6/7 class at Sauble-Amabel Community School were painting up a storm in support of local healthcare. BPHSF featured the artists online throughout the month of December to help count down the days to Christmas. All of the paintings are available for bidding. The students chose to raise funds for a ’02 Blender’ which is a piece of medical equipment needed in the Women & Child Care Unit at our Regional Hospital in Owen Sound. More than half the children were born at the Owen Sound Hospital, and they wanted the money they raise to help newborns who need oxygen. Their goal is to raise $468 which is BPHSF’s share of this regional need. Way to go kids!

The Spring Auction is available to preview and for early bidder registration beginning April 4th for one week, then the Auction goes LIVE April 11th at 7am and runs 24/7 until April 18th. We hope that the Auction not only raises funds, but raises spirits too by providing some fun, (sometimes competitive) entertainment while we STAY HOME. Please help us ‘keep care close to home’ by virtually joining us at @ www.bphsfoundation.com. Viewing, registering and bidding is easy. If you need assistance, please call April at (519) 379-3449.
