Congratulations to Candace Wilson of Miller Lake, winner of the 2020 Phone Book Cover Photo Contest with her photo of an Indigo Bunting.

Candace is an enthusiastic amateur nature photographer. Her main focus is birds, but she also enjoys photographing animals, insects and wild mushrooms. The photograph of the indigo bunting was taken in her back garden in Miller Lake where she lives. The photo was taken last May during the spring migration. She has counted up to 20 different bird species at the several feeders hanging in her yard.

As winner of the Phone Book Cover Photo Contest, Tobermory Press donates $300.00 to the charity of choice. Candace chose the Wiarton Salvation Army as the recipient. “I decided to choose this particular charity because it is local and to help them recoup some of the losses they sustained in the break-in last fall. Also, I am sure they will play a large part in helping during the current COVID-19 pandemic” said Candace.

The Bruce Peninsula Telephone Directory is mailed to every home and business on the Bruce Peninsula from Tobermory to Hepworth. Approximately 14,000 directories are being distributed this year.

Thank you to everyone who submitted photos for consideration and congratulations to our winner Candace!
