Local contractors And-Rod Construction Ltd. are featured in the Spring 2020 Our Homes Grey Bruce magazine.
Our Homes often features homes that are unique (architecture, minimalist homes, use of alternative energy, etc.). And-Rod submitted several of the homes they have done in the area and the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired design in Cape Chin was chosen – quite an impressive cottage.
And-Rod focuses on quality work and client communication. They have also developed a Pre-Construction Service, assisting clients in the planning phase of their project – arranging site visits, surveys, architectural plans, engineered plans, permits, budgeting, timelines, payment schedules, all the things that ensure the project is properly planned before any shovel hits the ground. This gives the client a realistic plan, with realistic costs and timelines.
They currently have 10 local employees with as many as 13 during peak construction season, including summer students. They offer apprenticeships and continuing education in the way of speciality courses and training.
The majority of materials used in builds are purchased from the local building centres and Grey-Bruce businesses are sourced for architectural plans, plumbing, electrical, HRV, heating and cooling, excavating, concrete and foundation, roofing, painting and landscape materials.
