Here it is October, already, and that means it’s time for the Community Christmas Cantata Choir to start rehearsing.
Our first rehearsal will be Sunday, October 20 at 2 pm at the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church, 18 Ferndale Road, at the edge of Lion’s Head.
This year’s music includes a combination of familiar and new music, which I think both the choir and our audiences are really going to enjoy. I’m hoping to be able to present some of this music in a different way than we’ve ever done before. I’ll have more to say about that another time, as plans take shape.
If you would like to sing in the choir, please come out to the rehearsals, every Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. A commitment to rehearsals is necessary as we have only 9 rehearsals to prepare the entire program this year. The ability to read music is a definite asset, but not mandatory. Performances will be Tuesday and Wednesday, December 17 and 18 at 7:30 pm, also at Bethel Church.
If you want to be a part, but you can’t commit to regular attendance at rehearsals, or you think you can’t sing, we also need people to read. I’m pretty sure I can come up with other ideas, if reading isn’t up your alley either. Let me know if you’re interested in participating in some way other than singing. We’ll figure it out.
If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call (David Warder 519-793-4015) or come out to the first rehearsal – Sunday, October 20 at 2 pm.
