Press Release

The Rotary Club of Wiarton, became involved with the Shore to Shore Race in 1953. After an absence of many years the club is thrilled to once again be organizing one of the Province’s oldest race events for runners. The 12.9 km race follows the paved road from Oliphant, on the shore of Lake Huron, to Wiarton where it winds its way through town and ends on the shore of Colpoy’s Bay. The race takes place this coming Civic Holiday Monday, August 5th.
With its rolling hills, the race is a favourite with both experienced runners and recreational participants. Most runners finish the course in 60-90 minutes.
There are five water stations along the route, on site first aid and emergency vehicles, transportation from the Wiarton Arena registration site to the race start and course marshals to guide the way. This race is strongly supported by the local community with many residents cheering for the participants and shouting words of encouragement all along the route.
For all the details on the race visit the race website www.wiartonshoretoshorerace.com. To register visit www.trackiereg.com/2019shoretoshore
We hope to see everyone out again this year for another great race.
