While summer may be slow in showing up, the Art season is kicking into high gear!
The Gallery is up and running
The Bruce Peninsula Artist Co-op Gallery and Gift Shop in Ferndale held its opening reception on the May long weekend. Music was provided by Dan Corcoran and Dominic Franken. The crowd was large, the food was good and the renovations to the Gallery front room looked fabulous. The Gallery will hold another mid-season reception on July 28. We are open weekends through June, then 7 days a week in July and August and back to weekends for September to Thanksgiving.
Children’s Art Workshops
The first week of July, the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists will hold its 3rd annual week of children’s art workshops. This year we have workshops for clay leaf bowls, coaster and magnet doodles, origami book marks and paint an owl on a cedar shingle. Each workshop will run twice over July 1-4 and we hold a show of created artworks the afternoon of July 5. Thank you to the municipality for supporting this and to Marydale Ashcroft for helping us with refreshments for the Friday show. 52nd Annual Art Show
The always popular Art Show returns to this year to the school in Lion’s Head on the Civic Holiday Weekend. There will be over 60 artists displaying work from Friday evening through to Monday afternoon. Come meet the artists on Friday August 2 from 7pm-9pm. The show and sale is open 11am-5pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
23rd Annual Studio Tour
This year we have 16 locations and 37 artists participating in the tour on August 24 and 25 from 10am to 5pm. The Tour is a great way to see lots of the northern Bruce Peninsula and meet many local artists.
The astounding beauty of our location inspires art that covers every medium and price point. Whether you live here or are just visiting, we would love to share our work with you.
