Opportunity for Tobermory Seniors to Discover the World of Dance: Looking for “Sharing Dance Seniors” in New Year

Submitted by Beth Breen

The National Ballet School and Baycrest Health Sciences (affiliated with University of Toronto), have developed Sharing Dance Seniors for older adults who want to exercise, socialize, and have fun, and who enjoy moving to beautiful music. Varying dance styles such as ballet and salsa are explored. This is a safe, accessible movement class that accommodates physical limitations.

The Meeting Place Tobermory will host the program. It is delivered via video, with a facilitator present on site. The classes will be held Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30am. The first eight week term will begin on Friday, February 15, and the second eight week term will begin Friday, April 26.

Sharing Dance Seniors will be offered at low or no cost to participants. More news will come in January. Follow updates on The Meeting Place Tobermory’s website www.tobermorymeetingplace.com or their FaceBook page www.facebook.com/The-Meeting-Place-Tobermory. People are invited to call in their ‘expressions of interest’ to 519-596-2313.

Men! – This program is open to you as well as to women. No special clothing or experience is needed for anyone to join in the dance.
