Two hundred patrons, coming from Owen Sound to Tobermory, turned out on June 6, 2026, to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the popular radio station 97.9/91.9 The Bruce.

On hand to provide entertainment for the dance party at the Lion’s Head Arena were radio personalities  “Longy and Brougher” and “Rockin Robin” along with the band RoadRash.

The lively party music brought many to the dance floor. There were also games and giveaways.

Overall, six hundred tickets were sold for the 50/50 draw offered by the Lion’s Head Hospital Auxiliary.

April Patry, Executive Director of Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation thanked the staff of Bayshore Broadcasting for their tremendous support to the community hospitals. Funds raised from the Birthday Bash are to be donated to the  Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation.

The final tally of the amount raised will be announced during the Second Annual Checkerboard Challenge Radiothon (see article here) on June 26, 2026. Community members are invited to drop by the 97.9/91.9 The Bruce live broadcast location – The Shops at 84 Main in downtown Lion’s Head.
