An enormous thank you to the community for sponsoring the markers that have been placed at Dunks Bay Cemetery. The markers will remain in place year-round as a visual tribute to those who have served each and every one of us and our country.
Should you wish to purchase a marker for your family member or sponsor a marker, it is not too late. Please e-transfer to donate@tobermorylegion.org. Please put in the memo section that this is for a marker or you can take a cheque or cash to the branch and Kandice will assist you. The cost to purchase is $25.00.
Club L June 25th
Yes, many of us have welcomed the return of this fantastic hotspot. Club L will take place every other Saturday over the summer.
The next Club L is Saturday, June 25 from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am. Cover charge to get into this fabulous event is $5.00 for members; $10 for nonmembers. Proof of valid membership and ID is required to enter. This applies to everyone regardless of age. So, dust off those dancing shoes and come on out.
Upcoming Events
• General Membership Meeting – There are no meetings over the summer months so as the song goes, see you in September.
• Meat Draws – every Saturday at 4:30 p.m. All are welcome; come on out and win some meat! Cost is $7.00 for 3 draws, plus the bonus draw. I hear that there is a lucky table so come on out and see if you can find the sweet spot.
• Bingo – every Wednesday at the Tobermory Community Centre run by the Ladies Auxiliary. Ages 19 and over. Doors open at 6:30 pm, bingo starts at 7:15 pm. Try to win the Jackpot.
• Club L – Saturday, June 25 (see details at left).
• Darts for Fun – Thursday, June 16 and 23 at 7:30 pm; cost is $2.00. Darts will then be taking a summer hiatus as the duck needs a rest.
• Bridge – every Monday at the branch at 1:00 pm.
Branch Hours are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Unless it’s a Club L night when the branch will remain open until 1:00 am.
