Unfortunately due to COVID 19 the Lion’s Head Hospital Auxiliary will be unable to hold their annual fund raising events this summer. Both the Plant Sale, held in June, and the Giant Garage Sale in July are cancelled. It would be impossible to social distance and keep folks safe at either of these events.
So, this year we will be unable to accept donations of your gently used and much loved items. Please store them in your garages, attics, basements or wherever for donating next year. The Auxiliary members are saddened with the news of cancellation because these were fun events that drew large crowds and brought the community together for a great cause. We loved seeing your smiles and accepted your well-intended teasing over prices at our sales. We will be back next year even bigger and better!
Both the Plant Sale and Garage Sale were our biggest fund raisers generating over $ 26,000.00 in total. The lack of revenue will certainly hamper what the Auxiliary is able to provide to support health care in our community. If you would like to donate to the Auxiliary to enable us to keep as much going as possible please send your donation to Lion’s Head Hospital Auxiliary at 22 Moore Street. Times are difficult for everyone at the moment with business closures, layoffs and uncertainty, however anything you or your family could do to support our efforts please consider it.
The Lion’s Head Hospital Auxiliary would also like to say a very special thank you to all of the health care providers in our community. It is because of all of their efforts that we are all being kept safe!
Many in addition to the health care providers have also kept smiles on our faces, the bank, gas station, clerks, grocery and hardware stores as well as the pharmacy and many, many more! Everyone pulling together has made our isolation much more tolerable. Hopefully we will all be together soon!
